Upgrade! Sofia Presents:

Just before Christmas on 22nd (Monday) I will have a talk about my works together with Valeria Petkova, who is a very interesting researcher experimenting with human perceptions.
This talk will take place at Goethe Institute in Sofia and is part of Sofia Upgrade – a programme of meetings and presentations of artists, curators and scientists.
I will present my project Post Global Warming Survival Kit and will talk about my experiments in converting and modifying digital devices to work in infrared.
It will be interesting for me to see the crossing point with Valeria's work and how an art project that is based on psychological and physical experience stands next to something that has similar approach but completely different purpose – in the case of Valeria – scientific.
This will be the only presentation of PGWSK for Bulgarian audience, because there is no gallery in Sofia that can host such a piece. This presentation will probably be the first ever example in Sofia when artist and scientist present their work together.
It took me some time to realize how unusual is something like this for my country where everybody works for exporting what they do or even worse – working somewhere else and coming back only for holidays.
Anyway I am really amazed by what Valeria is doing and she somehow became a media star recently with her experiments.
When I was searching for her work on Internet I found articles in all the major newspapers like:
New York Times
Times
USA Today
Washington Post
